Q: I have already installed akewa* software on my computer. Can I install a new version without losing my data ?

A: In this case, we recommend you de-install the existing version using the ‘Install or Remove programs’ tool in Windows Control Panel. This should be done even if you don’t want to install a new version in another folder.  

Q: Do I have the latest  version of akewa* ?

A:  You can check the version you are using by going to « Help » then “About”. In the window the version number of your current akewa* software will be displayed.

Q: Do you have a Wizard to help me easily create cards and labels? If yes, which one and how can I use it?

A: Yes, akewa* use a lot of wizards to design barcode, variable, lay out, connection to a database …

• To use the barcode wizard, select the menu « Action » and click on « Barcode wizard » or « EAN/UCC 128 wizard » .
• To call the wizard for the layout, click on “File” then “document format” . In the dialog box, click on “Add” and select « Format wizard » …
• To use the wizard in order to create a variable, select the module « Datasource » on the left side then select the menu « Action » or go directly to “Variable wizard “.  

Q: Can I import data from my E.R.P. and if yes, which one ?

A: With the exception of the basic version, all akewa* software can import data from your E.R.P. akewa* software can import either directly or through ODBC-OLEDB. Today there are more than 25 types of database interface connections within akewa* software (ORACLE, SQL Server, Access, Excel, ...)

Q: Can I personalize the akewa* application software ?

A : The ACK1 (Application Customisation Kit) allows you to modify, delete, suppress a field to the database and/or to the screenshot by using ACK Wizard and without writing a line of code !

Q: Can I select my database when I use the vertical software from akewa* ?

A : All of our vertical software applications use the jet engine of Access as a standard. As an option, SQL database is available when there is a need for a more secure database or higher storage capacity.
